Coverage Questions

What does "exclusionary coverage" mean? +

Everything is covered except maintenance items like brake pads, tires, fluids, filters, and wiper blades. If it's not on the short exclusion list, it's covered.

This is the opposite of "stated component" coverage where only the parts specifically listed are protected - and if your broken part isn't on that list, you're denied.

What's the difference between coverage limit and coverage type? +

Coverage type determines which parts are protected. Stated component plans only cover listed parts. Exclusionary covers everything except wear items.

Coverage limit is your annual repair cap ($2,500, $5,000, $7,500, etc.). With VIP, everyone gets the same full exclusionary coverage - you just choose the limit that fits your budget.

Are electronics and infotainment systems covered? +

Yes. Navigation systems, touchscreens, backup cameras, sensors, Bluetooth modules, power accessories - all covered under exclusionary coverage.

These are the exact items that stated component plans often exclude or charge extra for.

What's NOT covered? +

Maintenance and wear and body items like: brake pads, rotors, tires, wiper blades, fluids, filters, belts, and body/cosmetic parts. That's it.

If a mechanical or electrical component fails, it's covered.

What if I can't afford full exclusionary coverage? +

We offer an Engine & Transmission only option at a reduced monthly rate. This covers the most expensive repairs - the ones that can total a vehicle.

It's not our recommended coverage, but if budget is tight and you just want protection against catastrophic engine or transmission failure, it's available during the pricing process.

What if I only want the big stuff covered? +

If you're comfortable handling smaller repairs yourself and only want protection against major failures, our Engine & Transmission coverage might be right for you.

It covers engine and transmission repairs only - the $3,000-$8,000+ repairs that can catch you off guard. You'll see this option at a lower monthly rate during checkout.

What about my hybrid parts and battery? Are they covered? +

With VIP Warranty Exclusionary coverage, yes. All the major mechanical parts on your car are covered. Only a small list of exclusions. (See Contract for Details)

Exclusionary coverage is the way to go. Most companies scale down coverage level to bring the cost down. At VIP, we let everyone have the good stuff. Just pick how much you want to fit the cost in your budget. Rest easy knowing you won't there the dreaded " The part that broke is not a covered part"
